Choose IML and make the smile your best tool!

"After implant-restoration surgery, the quality of my life has greatly improved."

Angelica

The Swiss company IML SA Swiss Dental Implants started as a new project in 2009 by the synergy of professionals of the dental implantology field that created a close-knit team with 20 experience in the design and production of implant systems with the highest quality standards. Main aim: to offer oral implantology that is Simple, Safe and Stable through time, creating effective solutions for dentists and for their patients.

Its engineers continuously seek improvements and effective solutions for new implantology needs, ones that meet also the expectations of the most demanding professionals.
DENTAL IMPLANTS, THE SOLUTION
THAT GETS TO THE ROOT
OF THE PROBLEM!

This method avoids problems associated with removable prostheses and dental bridges, which fill the empty gaps with the disadvantage of having to operate on healthy teeth in order to be anchored.

Dental implantology is an extraordinary medical procedure, if executed properly and with high quality materials.

IML’s main objective is to provide oral implantology that is Simple, Safe and Stable through time.

These “3S” summarize the guidelines on which the Company has set its standards, and which it strives to pursue every day.

DENTAL IMPLANTS
AND PROCEDURES

Dental implants are medical titanium screws which have the function of replacing the missing or damaged root.

After a careful diagnosis of the patient’s bone tissue, the threaded implant is placed into the jawbone or the mandible through an operation, generally carried out with local anaesthesia.

Post-surgery healing can take from 3 to 6 months, as the bone grows around the implant making it durable and solid.

At which point, a prosthetic pillar called “abutment” is connected to the implant. Then the dental laboratory crafts the crown which caps the abutment and which constitutes the visible portion of the tooth.

In some cases, it is possible to place immediately a temporary dental crown on the implant just positioned (a technique called “immediate loading”).

Then, once osseointegration is complete, the temporary crown will be replaced by a permanent one.

SET HIGH STANDARD
FOR YOUR LIFE

Quality maintenance is the guiding principle of IML, a project for life that takes the form of the IML Production Protocol, a constantly evolving tool that is applied daily in the production of each component.

Titanium is a recognized metal compatible with human tissue, but relying on the intrinsic properties of the material is not enough, since the replacement tooth must withstand the high loads of chewing forces over time.

Due to this, IML uses only the highest quality titanium guaranteed free of radioactivity, mercury and manufacturing defects, and performs mechanical processes and surface treatments capable of reproducing the most favorable conditions for natural bone regeneration.
FAQs

IS THE SURGERY PAINFUL?

Absolutely not. The patient is properly anaesthetized with local anaesthesia.

For more complex operations, it is possible to collaborate with an anesthetist at the clinic, to reduce the emotional involvement of the patient.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE SURGERY?

Good health and sufficient bone density are mandatory, independently of age, as long as skeletal growth is complete.

HOW LONG DOES THE SURGERY TAKE?

This depends on the complexity of the operation and on the patient’s clinical status. Generally, the range is less than 1 hour for a single implant to more than 3 hours for several.

HOW LONG DOES A DENTAL IMPLANT LAST?

Dental implants have a significantly high success rate, in the order of 98% lasting up to ten years.

However, duration is subjective and depends on several factors, such as precision of the mechanical processing, bone features, oral hygiene and regular follow-up visits.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO PLACE AN IMPLANT IN THE CASE OF LACK OF SUFFICIENT BONE PORTION?

When bone is insufficient, bone grafting can be the solution.

This surgical procedure replaces missing bone by grafting it from another part of the patient’s body or using biocompatible material.

WHAT DOES “ALL-ON-FOUR” OR “ALL-ON-SIX” MEAN?

It is a surgical technique to restore fully edentulous arches. In a single session, it allows for the application of a fixed prosthesis for a full dental arch, supported by four or six implants.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR
PROPER MAINTENANCE

TAKING CARE OF YOUR IMPLANT SYSTEM

Successful, perfect recovery following implant-restoration surgery is strongly conditioned by the patient’s commitment to scrupulously follow the postoperative instructions given by his/her dentist.

Regular check-ups and maintenance at the dental practice are important, as well as accurate and constant oral care.

Tobacco consumption can cause peri-implantitis, an inflammatory disease that can lead to the loss of the implant.

THE IMPLANT PASSPORT

IML provides dentists with implant passport, which is delivered to patient at the end of the surgery.

The passport contains useful information for tracing the medical device over time.

If needed, you will be able to show your implant passport to other dentists, so that they will be able to intervene adequately in solving any problems.

It is important to note that IML implant systems are characterized by their lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
